Jason graduated from Samuel Clemens High School (San Antonio, TX) and then from Angelo State University (San Angelo, TX) with a degree in Music Performance with teacher certification. 

Jason is a former educator of 15+ years and served as the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Administrator for Goliad ISD and before that he was the Director of Bands and Assistant Director for San Saba ISD. Bands under his direction have performed for: Regional/ Area/ State contests, Foreign Diplomats, State Officials, State Conventions, and were an annual performance group for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs. He also served Goliad ISD as their Theatre Director with his troupe advancing to Bi-District, Area, Regional, and even the State UIL Contest. 

As a musician, Jason has performed with many different ensembles throughout the years which include: the West Texas Jazz Orchestra, Dan’s Big Band, San Angelo Symphony, Orquesta & Ballet Folklorica from Tec de Monterrey in Chihuahua, Mexico, San Angelo Community Band, Heights Concert Band, Victoria Community Band, the Victoria Jazz Ensemble, the Victoria All-Stars Jazz Band, the Crossroads Jazz Band, the Other Guys Big Band, the Pride of West Texas the ASU RAM Band, ASU Wind Ensemble, ASU Jazz Ensemble, ASU Trumpet Ensemble, ASU Brass Choir, ASU Chamber Orchestra, Angelo Civic Theater Orchestra, ASU Musical Theater Orchestra, Brownwood Lyric Orchestra, and San Saba’s FBC Orchestra.  He is currently performing with the King Experience, Texas Coast Classic Rock, and the Crossroads Jazz Ensemble.

 He has performed with artists such as Lou Marini (Blues Brothers Band), Wayne Bergeron (Jazz Trumpet Artist & Hollywood Musician), Ron Wilkins (Jazz Trombone Artist), Andre Hayward (Jazz Trombone Artist), Butch Miles (drummer for the Count Basie Band), Bert Truax (Trumpet player for the Dallas Symphony), and David O’Neil (Christian Trumpet artist and trumpet player for Bette Midler’s Band). 

Jason is an active member of: The Main Street Goliad Board, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmaster Association, Bugles Across America and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He recently served as the Executive Secretary of the Blanco Baptist Association Executive Board and is currently on the Admin. Board for the Guadalupe Baptist Association. 

Jason currently serves as the Music Minister and Administrator as well as a Deacon at FBC Goliad.  In his off hours he is the Texas Ensemble Relations Manager for the Blue Devils Performing Arts, which include: USBANDS, the Blue Devils Drum Corps, Western Band Association and Blue Devils Entertainment.   He currently serves as a GISD School Board Trustee and has been the Vice President for the last 3+ years.  Jason and his wife Sharon have been married for 20+ years and have a son (John) and a daughter (Clara).
