September 1, 2024 we welcome our New Senior Pastor Larry Perkins and his wife Sharmin to FBC Goliad. Larry is joining us from FBC Pettus where he has been the pastor since 2015. He has spent 28 years in ministry serving congregations in the Panhandle of Texas and here in South Texas.  Larry and Sharmin have been married for 36 years and have two children: Kirstie Noelle (30) and Kaleb Ray (27).  Sharmin is an elementary educator who is currently employed with Kenedy ISD.    

About Larry’s Salvation and Call to Ministry:

“I was saved at the age of 11 in Abernathy Texas at Northside Baptist Church. In 1984 at the age

of 18, I felt called of God to enter into full-time vocational service and was licensed by First Baptist Church

of Abernathy in January of 1985. I enrolled at Wayland Baptist University in January of 1985 to pursue the

training I needed to fulfill the call on my life.

I began serving as a senior pastor at the age of 22 while I was enrolled at Wayland and I have led 4

Southern Baptist congregations which all grew. God has also used us through the years to help an

independent Christian church progress after years of conflict and to help other churches get grounded and
